| I started my involvement in the dog world with my first Irish Setter in 1973. I have continued to breed and successfully show Irish Setters for the past 50 years under the Lanascol prefix. To date I have bred and shown eight NZ Grand Champions. I have also bred 3 Supreme Champions. In 2012 Supreme Champion Lanascol Question Answered achieved the award of #1 Show Dog of All Breeds in New Zealand. Over the years I have also imported a number of Irish Setters to help with my breeding program. For 15 years I was involved with breeding and exhibiting Labrador Retrievers alongside the Irish Setters. I have also owned and exhibited 2 American Cockers. For the past 26 years I have also been involved with breeding and exhibiting Pointers with my husband, Paul Robinson. In the 70’s I was on the All-Breed’s committee in the Manawatu. I served on the Irish Setter Committee commencing in 1979, initially as the Treasurer and then as President. I was honoured to be awarded life membership of this club in 2016. I am on the Waitemata Gundog Club Committee as Treasurer and I was made a life member of this club in 2014. I am currently in my 5th year as the Chairman of the Auckland Judges Association. I have been judging since 1985 and achieved my All Breeds judging status in 2010. I have had many judging appointments in New Zealand including the NZ National Dog Show in 2003. I have judged in Victoria, New South Wales, Canberra, South Australia, Queensland, Western Australia, Israel, Ireland, Canada, the United States and Sweden where I judged part of the Working Group and the Gundog breeds. I have been appointed to judge Irish Setters in the UK in September 2023 (changed from 2020 due to Covid) at the City of Birmingham Championship show. I have judged all of my Groups and Best in Show as well as specialty shows in the USA on several occasions. I have judged all Groups and Best in Show in New Zealand, United States, India, Australia, Canada and also in China. |
